The more that we learn about trauma, the more that we understand its far-reaching, pervasive effects.  Research suggests that 70-90% of those receiving services through the community mental health system have experienced significant trauma in their lives.  In recognition of that, at CNS we are committed to ensuring that those we serve do not experience triggering or traumatic events while working with our staff.  We design our office and clubhouse environments to feel safe and welcoming, and we regularly provide training for our staff on trauma-informed practice. Additionally, our internal Trauma-Informed Workgroup is constantly monitoring and evaluating organizational practices to create a secure and comfortable experience for those we serve.
