Who we are
A private, non-profit, human services agency, CNS employs over 200 professionals, paraprofessionals and support staff who deliver services to more than 4,500 consumers each year.
Community Network Services strives to continually raise the bar on our service excellence and programmatic innovation. To this end, we are proud to have achieved the following in recent months:
CNS is one of the first agencies in the state to have a certified Mental Health First Aid trainer. Mental Health First Aid is an evidence-based public education and prevention tool – it improves the public’s knowledge and understanding of mental health problems, teaches crisis intervention strategies for laypeople, and connects people with resources for mental health services
CNS and the CNS Foundation sponsored its third Annual 5K Run/Walk which raised both public awareness of mental illness and additional financial support to advance our mission driven programs
Established an on-site Pharmacy, exclusive to our consumers, to increase customer service and accessibility to needed pharmaceutical support
CNS’ Board of Directors planned and executed its 8th Annual Community Reception and welcomed over 300 partners and consumers. The reception recognizes consumer achievements and provides community education and public awareness of mental health issues and resources
In partnership with Lighthouse of Oakland County, CNS serviced 31 chronically homeless consumers. This partnership assisted consumers in obtaining permanent housing and entitlements while stabilizing their mental health status
CNS has the largest number of certified Peer Specialists in the state. These consumers serve as role models and lay educators for other consumers as well as staff while making a positive impact on the recovery process
Developed and produced “Did You Know” an award-winning documentary created to shed light on mental health stigma and other related issues
Produced and presented “Unlocking the Mind” a monthly cable show dedicated to dispelling myths and increasing understanding of the various issues around mental illness. The program aired on Comcast Channel 52, WOW Channel 19.
